WELCOME to my Early Years BLOG from Windsor, Ontario, CANADA! Parents, I encourage you to use this blog with your child. Have them explain to you what they were doing, learning, exploring, creating etc. Use this as an opportunity to talk about school and to allow your child to reflect on their day.

Flash the Fish
This morning we had to change the water in the fish tank. While the water was adjusting we had Flash in a bowl on the table. Some of the children used the magnifying glasses to observe our fish and beautiful pastels to create their very own interpretation of him.

Using 10 Frames and a 100's carpet, our class got busy counting up our cans. We counted by ones and tens as a strategy to count 100 cans!!! Awesome work, we collected over 400 cans!!!
Bricks 4 Kidz
The BRICKS 4 KIDZ Event was a great success! All of our students enjoyed building, creating and working together. Thanks to the great leaders in this program for setting up very interesting centres for our students.

Can Drive
Today was the last day of the can drive. A big thank you to everyone who helped do their part in trying to end poverty and hunger. Our class along with Mrs. McLennan's class was able to raise over 400 cans that will be distributed by St. Mary's Cupboard. On Monday we will find out our schools total along with the winners of the pizza and popcorn party, either way we are all extremely proud of everyone's hard work! :)

Can Drive!
Just a reminder, the can drive ends this Friday! We have two more days to bring in as many cans as we can! :)
Library
Please return all library books! We will not be taking out new library books until after we come back from Winter Break to allow the library to catch up with all of the missing books. Our next library day to take out new books will be on Wednesday, January 7, 2015.
Just a reminder for those who are looking for books to read over the holidays, Riverside Library offers a free library card for anyone who lives in the city.
Our Elf Adventures
It all started with a letter from Santa...
Then we had to find a name for our elf! Santa narrowed it down to five names and we had a class vote. RUDOLPH was the winner!
The children are in the process of making a book to capture our time with our elf.
